Today we went to Niagara Falls. I’ve never been to the falls before. It was as touristy as I expected, but more spectacular than I expected. Despite Calvin’s strong protestation (fear), we rode The Maid of the Mist. It was amazing to ride up to the base of the falls and see their size and power.
(You can click any picture to see it bigger.)We had dinner at IHOP. Calvin’s eating of pancakes was the deciding variable. Matt and I wondered to each other, not enthusiastically, how many breakfast-all-day restaurants this trip will see.

Years ago, I went on a trip to Nashville & Memphis with five other guy friends. I rented the van and drove, and the rule was that the driver decided where we ate. So our first three meals of the trip were at Waffle House. The boys were begging me not to go for a fourth straight (which I briefly considered).
